3.3. Selecting the Air Velocity measuring mode
3.3.1. The unit has 3 modes for the measurement of air
velocity:
a. CU - Current Air Velocity.
b. MAX - Maximum Air Velocity Measured.
c. AVG - Average Air Velocity Measured.
3.3.2. To select the desired measuring mode, with the unit
switchedon,holddowntheMODEbutton(g.1.1)for
3secondsuntilthe'm/s'symbolonthedisplayscreen
(g.2)startstoash.
3.3.3.PresstheSETbutton(g1.2)andscrollthroughthe
unitsofmeasurementuntil'CU'isdisplayedinthe
temperaturedisplayareaonthescreen(g.2).Continue
topresstheSETbutton(g.1.2)toscrollto'MAXor
'AVG'measuringmode,asindicatedonthedisplay.
3.3.4. Once the desired measuring mode has been selected,
presstheMODEbutton(g.1.1)toconrmtheselection.
Note: The settings will remain stored when the unit is
switched off normally. If the battery is removed, the unit
will default to the factory presets.
3.4. Setting the Unit of Measurement (Temperature)
3.4.1.Removetheunitfromtheprotectiveshroud(g1.6).
3.4.2. Switch the unit on, and insert a suitable pin into the
temperature setting apeture at the rear of the unit
(g.1.3).Presstheinternalswitchtochangethe
temperature unit of measurement between °C and °F.
3.5. Digital Display Backlight
3.5.1. When the unit is switched on, press any button to
illuminate the display backlight for a 12 second period.
3.6. DigitalDisplay(g.2)
3.6.1.Withtheunitswitchedonandtheimpeller(g.1.4)
rotating, the wind speed, temperature and Beaufort
Scale readings will show on the display screen.
3.6.2.Ifthetemperaturefallsbelow0°C(32°F)the'windchill'
functionwillactivateandshowonthedisplay(g.2).
3.7. Switch Off Procedure
3.7.1. To switch the unit off, press the MODE button (Fig.1.1)
and the SET button (fig.1.2) simultaneously.
3.7.2. If the unit is switched on and not used for more than 14
minutes,the'autopowershutoff'functionwillswitchoff
the unit.
3.8. Battery Replacement
3.8.1. If the Battery Condition Indicator (fig.2) displays the
symbol, the battery requires replacement.
3.8.2.Removetheunitfromtheprotectiveshroud(fig.1.6).
3.8.3. Using a coin, rotate the battery cover (fig.1.5) counter-
clockwise until it can be removed from the unit. Remove
the unserviceable battery and replace with a
serviceable CR2032 3V battery. Re-fit the battery
cover (fig.1.5) and rotate clockwise until locked into
place.
3.8.4.Re-fittheprotectiveshroud(fig.1.6).
Environmental Protection
Recycle unwanted materials insread of disposing of them as waste.
All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycle centre and disposed of in a manner which is
compatible with the environment.
When a product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your
local solid waste authority for recycling information.
Battery Removal
Open the rear cover as in Section 3.8.
Remove the battery.
Replace the cover.
Dispose of batteries according to local authority guidelines.
